Bachelor of Applied Science (Coastal Management) with Honours

Ryan's B.App.Sci (Hons) degree focused on the range of interconnected ecosystems in the coastal zone between the top of Australia's Great Dividing Range east to the edge of the continental shelf. The purpose of the degree was to understand these systems for management of their sustainable use. Graduates emerged with a broad scientific understanding of terrestrial, aquatic and marine ecosystems; the manner in which people interact with them; and the methods and tools in use to manage the interaction for sustainability.

Master of Science (Social and Natural Resource Management)

Ryan's M.Sc degree complemented this approach by drawing together social, cultural, legal and administrative elements with traditional and contemporary knowledge systems for the management of a fishery and related trade that was potentially beneficial to remote village communities in Solomon Islands but was being conducted in an unsustainable manner. It was applied science and industry development.
